Atmos.
As of late 2023, I've been getting into mixing for a new format - Dolby Atmos Spacial Audio.
Historically as a producer, I've often been a fan of dense productions, with layers of guitars, synths, percussion and vocals, and as a mixer, have developed an aptitude for fitting all of these details into a stereo mix, so discovering 360 Immersive audio has been a revelation, and the details that make productions come alive for me can now have their own space in the immersvie space.
I've so far mixed Atmos versions of records for El Moono: The Waking Sun, and Wrex: This Hell Goes A Long Way Down - these hyperlinks will take you to the Apple Music pages where you can listen to the records on your Atmos system, or as a binaural render on headphones - just make sure that "Spacial Audio" is switched on in settings.
Supported by Dolby Labs UK in London, while I might be new to Atmos mixing, I care deeply about making sure that your record translates well to this new medium, and my mixes are coming out spacious, detailed, and full, while still retaining hard hitting rhythmic elements and the power of your stereo mixes.
If you're interested in talking more about the world of Atmos let me know, always happy to geek out over a coffee!
